Dr Saoirse McCrann is a Global Medical Advisor for Myopia at EssilorLuxottica.
She qualified from Technological University Dublin (TUD) with a Bachelor of Science (First Class Hons) in Optometry in 2012 and later completed her PhD at TUD (2015-2019), where her research focused on myopia control in children. Following her PhD, she continued as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at TUD’s Centre for Eye Research Ireland (2019-2020), working as a clinical trial investigator on pediatric myopia control trials and providing clinical supervision to undergraduate Optometry students in Primary Eye Care. Dr. McCrann has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and delivered presentations at several international conferences.
Her work today combines her passion for clinical research, evidence generation, and advancing the understanding and management of myopia on a global scale.
